Arts One at UBC Vancouver is a first year program that recognizes the value of small cohort learning and an integrated interdisciplinary curriculum. The program facilitates a dynamic team of instructors from various disciplines across the University to organize their courses around a guiding theme that unifies the texts, films, and works studied that year.

Arts One nurtures students to participate in enriching inter-textual conversation that is generated by their theme. Through seminar discussions, written essays, and peer-centred workshops called tutorials – students will transform from learners into teachers, from writers to debaters, and from high school students to independently-minded scholars.
